CH340N OPTO is a optically isolated USB-UART converter module. The module is based on CH340N chip. The module contains two 6N137 optocouplers for RX and TX lines.
LED indicator display the state of RX and TX lines, so LEDs are blinking if communication is in progress.

There is an another USB-UART converter module in my products, MCP2200 OPTO, which works different way. MCP2200 has a USB powered and a target circuit powered side on the PCB. CH340N OPTO contains an isolated DC-DC converter, so the entire module is USB powered.

CH340N OPTO module works with 5V level signals. (RT/TX)

Pinout

0V: GND
RX: Receive data (input)
TX: Transmit data (output)
Vo: +5V output (V out). It is the isolated DC-DC converter output. It can power external circuits. Left unconnected if not needed. Pay attention to 0V and Vo lines! They are different!
